Welcome to my humble writing board.

Please do start reading from the very first post on this blog i.e. the earliest post. Thanks! Constructive comments very much appreciated! Hate comments.. Well... Don't expect to see them for a long period because I'll delete them. Just saying beforehand. *Shrugs*

Enjoy!

Ps. I don't proclaim to be an awesome writer. So, please don't expect too much.

Prologue - Diary of Dr. Walter Dickson -- -20 days to Patient Zero

Stormy

0900hrs

It has been, what, 8 days since I have last written in this diary?? Oh god, the timespan between. What exhilaration! Let me start, now, let's see, where was I? Oh yes, yes. Hendrik. Well, after injecting the viral strain, he displayed no mutations, nothing. Even after waiting for several hours, there was still nothing. So we decided not to risk it and injected the cure. After several checks, we found no strain of the virus at all in Hendrik's body.

After running dry of ideas, I was about to suggest to Heatha that we leave the place. She is vehemently against it, not wishing to leave the place without a result. And thus, she contacted the tribesmen. Apparently, Hendrik can speak the local language and as such, he helped us translate. We managed to convince the tribesmen to provide us with some of their poisons and the like that were passed down from generations, possibly for animals or invading people. And thus we started to look into it.

That took several days and we have since tried to merge our created viral strain with all the samples of the poisons provided. It did take a while, and we finally did it!!!

However, we have since, yet to try it out. Apparently, part of one of the ancient venoms was supposed to have been from a rabid tiger. Which is both fascinating and terrifying at the same time. They have since mixed that cocktail with other animals that have been rabid. That was also the reason why we did not try it out. I mean, honestly, what are the odds??

We are definitely not taking the risk of actually trying this new strain of "Green" on Hendrik or anybody else. After the merging, we also spotted that the viral strain seemed to be evolving. Or, mutating. It seem to be constantly changing. Which is extremely weird. We are going to be conducting some tests on it now. See how it reacts with Penicillin and antibiotics. After this cup of coffee, I am off to work again!

Ps. Alice does not seem to be too happy about this.. There had been no choice but to tell her about it, seeing that Heatha had been extremely adamant about making our current research a success.

1730hrs

This new "Green" viral strain is extremely, well, tenacious. We have been trying with all kinds of antibiotics and even the new cure we have created. But so far, nothing seems to work. The antibiotics and the cure was supposed to help fight and destroy the viral strain, but apparently, they failed to do so. The viral strain seemed as though it actually absorbed the antibiotics and/or the cure and continue to mutate.

Heatha and I are currently working extremely quickly on it. Also, there is also a fear that someone might actually stumble upon it and unintentionally break it. No one wants that! There is, currently, no cure for it. Oh god. After this quick dinner, I am off to the labs again!

It looks like this holiday trip turned out to be useless in helping me escape my work. Oh well. Dear Alice will just have to wait for me to be done. I do not know how long it will take, but it'll be for a while. Hopefully fast enough!

Sunday

Windy

0900hrs

We have since tried the strain on the said cow. However, it displayed no sign of anything. Maybe it has a natural immunity to the strain. Heatha is currently working on that possibility in order to obtain a vaccine to it. I have since yet to sleep! Oh god.

Alice is feeling much better already. She seemed normal. I guess for now I cannot work on the virus strain no more. Alice do hates it that I bring work to wherever we go. Oh dear me. Am going for breakfast now as soon as Alice is done showering. I think I could use a nap after breakfast!

Also... Something happened between Heatha and myself.. I had ended up making out with her the night before, just after injecting the virus strain into the cow.. Oh god what in the world am I doing?!

1200hrs

Something had came up. Heatha managed to analyse the blood sample from the cow and it seems that the virus strain had somehow merged with the existing viruses within the cow, creating an even stronger strain. What's weird and mind boggling is that the cow is showing no signs of any pain. Not even with the cobra venom. How odd. Heatha also brought up the possibility that the cow could be just showing no symptoms.. I wonder why..

She has also brought up another thing.. She has already reported this to the higher ups! That slimy bitch.. It's far too soon for reporting seeing that there is no reaction to the virus strain yet.. Well, I am going to get some sleep first, I'm far too bummed out to think straight..

1730hrs

I was awoken by Alice. She informed me that apparently there is a situation going on in the country itself and as such, the tour guide had decided to abandon us at this current tribe area that we are lodging in. All this reeks of a sabotage. I went to Heatha and indeed.. She has told the Military to lock down the area "for research purposes". I was pissed. Very pissed.

But then she showed me something interesting. The virus strain itself have since mutated and somehow gotten stronger. Heatha said it is starting to develop airborne characteristics. Which is terrifying. I then started to work on a vaccine. Just in case. We have detected a strain in the cow whereby it seems to fight off the virus strain, pretty effectively. We are working on that now. Looks like I have to leave poor alice alone again.

2145hrs

We did it! We tested the vaccine on the Petri dish with some of the virus strain and it seems to cancel out the virus effectively enough! We have since injected it into the cow to see if it works. Not only that, we tested out the virus on the dog and monkey.. No visible symptoms of pain or the virus taking effect, which is weird.

We have also injected the vaccine into those animals to see if it works.. Will update with the results later!

2350hrs

It seems.. The vaccine was a success! No strain of the virus was detected in the cow any longer. The same goes for the dog and monkey! That is good news! However, we have since, done something terrible.. We have just injected the virus into one of the members of the tour group.. So far, no signs of any mutations or sickness.. How odd.. Maybe we have failed.. Looks like it will be best to move on.. Heatha will be informing the Military and we will be moving out from here.. In a few hours we will inject the vaccine into the poor fellow.. What is his name again?? Hendrik, or something..

Dear Alice has fallen asleep.. I see that she has been crying.. Has she... Found the diary and read it? I hope not.. Shall go get myself another of those instant coffee.. I'll need it to work..

Ps. Heatha is looking hot, what with her serious demeanour when working.. So damn sexy and hot..

Saturday

Sunny

And, surprisingly, today's weather was for the better! Sadly, my dear Alice is suffering badly from the contaminated food served to us by the tribesmen. Plus, lodgings weren't of the best seeing that this is a hike. She has started vomitting despite taking some antibiotics for food poisoning that I had packed along. Poor dear. As for myself, I have since recovered from the food poisoning. I pin that down to my constant working out in the gym and long jogs! Who says doctors are all feebly and small in stature? I, for one, am proud to be a fit and well built doctor from the Military!

And.. Heatha seems to be recovering fine too. That's good. Although, she does seem slightly paler. Oh well. Anyway, I have since made use of my free time conduct some tests on the 8 strains of viruses that I manage to extract from one of the cows that were at the village. Apparently, the Amazon do contain wonders. Medical wonders! I mean, just one cow and I can extract 8 strains of different viruses that not only has the advanced medical science of the Military failed to detect, but has also no cure to it!

Which makes me wonder.. Did the beef we consume the day before also contain the viruses? If so, then we are in trouble! I have since, so far, gathered and identified the DNA blocks that matches the common flu and diarrhoea, thus the runs. Also, this could be the cause of the vomitting my dear Alice is suffering from.

I have since set Heatha to try and concoct an antibiotic to fight these viruses.. But.. Heatha did point out something worthwhile.. That we should try to combine the strains and then work on the antibiotic to fight all 8 at once.. Interesting..

2130hrs

I have since decided to place time stamps in my diary. I cannot believe what is going on! Through the combined efforts of Heatha and myself, working since the afternoon, we have, somehow or rather, managed to combined those strains of viruses! Through a calculated combination of the DNA blocks, they have since merged to form a solitary virus strain! We have also taken the liberty and used the viruses we managed to extract from the monkey and dog that we came across. Along with the venom of cobras that we have stolen from the tribesmen. We have since decided to name this virus as "Green" as the resulting virushad a somewhat greenish brown tinge to it. I know, it's a bad name, but I have never been one for fanciful names! Heatha did suggest to use one alphabet to name it, a la Resident Evil. What nonsense!

However, as to what kind of damage it can do to a person is still unknown.. We will be trying it out on the very same cow we extracted the most of the viruses from.. Just to see what happens. Also, Heatha and I are going to start working on a cure for it in about, 5 minutes. Shall take a smoke and set out to work!

Friday

Cloudy

The weather has been abmysal recently, and today was no different. This hiking trip I decided to take with my dear Alice has been a horrendous idea for a holiday. I can't, for the love of god, fathom why I chose a hiking trip through the Amazons as our holiday trip. I guess this actually boils down to the Military. Hereinsofar, I have received a text from the higher ups to begin research on a biological weapon by extracting viruses from the Amazons, thus the decision to come here. I guess there is no end to research and development in this aspect in order to triumph the war against terror.

Had visited one of the tribal villages with the tour group. They served us this dish, god knows what it is called, but hell yeah it tasted delicious! The beef used was extremely tender and juicy. However, I don't think it sits well with us though.. Most of the 15 people in the tour group are down with the runs. Including me. Must've been the meat.

Anyway, I have since extracted several strains of viruses from the animals. Of course, this was done in utmost secrecy. Can't have the tribesmen know I am extracting these stuff from their animals now, can I? For all I know, I might be beheaded!!

Oh.. Yeah... One more thing.. Heatha had came along for this trip. I guess she had to come too, to help me with the research.. But it makes things a bit awkward for me.. After all, Alice doesn't know that Heatha and I once had a thing together.. Oh well.. May my dear Alice never find out! Gotta go to the bathroom again! Oh god what is in that meat?!

Plans much

I have a plan to write a novel. But totally bummed out with regards to ideas. Goddamnit.

So... Anyway, I do intend to start out a novel series on Left 4 Dead, seeing that the franchise is pretty popular and that the back stories are seemingly under developed. And thus I shall start! Love you, world.

Ps: This novel that I am about to start on Left 4 Dead will be entirely conjured out of the mangled and terribly mutilated imagination of mine. It is not supposed to be correct or supposed to be following exactly with the story provided by the creators. I also hereby disclaim all ownership of characters and some parts of the background story that will come up. I will be adapting the main gist of the back stories from what was provided through The Sacrifice comics i.e. I will be improvising from whatever that was provided. So, for the love of god, don't sue me. I don't own those things. Things that are familiar, I have mentioned. I IMPROVISED from existing materials. Pretty please don't sue me?? :D

Also, I created some totally new characters. Those are mine, so far that I know of. I didn't google to see other fan fictions. So, if there are similarities or anything, kindly drop me an email! I didn't copy intentionally, and I apologise beforehand. :)

Pss: Also, if you do not like it, please, don't read it. Just leave. Hate comments don't constitute to constructive comments.
